Wigwam Motorhomes are manufactured in Indonesia and Thailand. While we have built, and can build, motorhomes on the chassis from the size of Toyota Vigo pickup trucks (our Sioux model) to the size of 10-meter Mercedes passenger buses (the Shoshone model), our current production line is concentrated on 6-wheel Isuzu Elf trucks (our Apache model), as we consider this the most sensible compromise between comfort and maneuverability, especially when the motorhome is used as a single unit.

Two Apache models

The Apache is suited as an owner unit (as permanent accommodation for a person whose economic standing justifies a high level of comfort).

Units smaller than the Apache (such as our Sioux and Comanche models), even when fully fitted, are suited for temporary owner use, or as accommodation for support staff.

Potential owners who want more than an Apache (based on an Isuzu Elf) are advised to consider a second unit first, rather than a larger vehicle. The second unit could be an additional Apache, a Comanche, or a Sioux, used for support staff and support functions such as inner city shopping.

The support vehicle concept is more convincing in Southeast Asia where we are based than it would be in North America or Europe, as support staff is very affordable here, and as it is a widely accepted tradition that wealthier people have household help, drivers, and personal secretaries.

But even if your motorhome is 10 meters of length (our Shoshone), you don't want to share it with your household help or driver.
